Appletini anyone?

My friends...my dear, dear friends. The boys in 'urple never looked in prime form this past Sunday, but much can be said about the form in which they arrived to the dome. Pre-game went a little something like this for young G. Ferrote (also known as Gus Forgot-how-to-play-in-the-NFL by those less aware). 2 pm...a slow and steady turn out of bed as he awoke next to Marcy. His head still pounding from the bulldozzer amount of appletini's he enjoyed only hours earlier at his favorite brass rail joint (some have said it to be the Seville, yet others Rick's). A fresh start for the the chipper 30-ageless year old, he threw together himself and hailed the first cab that approached her 7th st. loft. Noting 8 missed calls from his wife, he knew he would have some explaining to do later that evening. What time is it? Gametime he thought and shrugged, coughed (lucky strikes) and folded his hands together with a short burst of warm air.

5pm...following a pre-game meal of pasta, salad, and gobstoppers he pondered a second portion, but thought it might be too much. after all, tonight would be a full helping of bear a la king...yummm!

....to be continued

coach's message to the bears

Prediction--Vikings 100-bears suck. I don't know why they're even playing this game. If the vikings show up even half sober it should be over 4 possessions in. I predict Jared Allen will eat Brian Ur-suckslacher alive all game long.
Prediction 35-27 vikes

another great day for the vikes

Another great day for the vikings as they lost respectfully to in this writer's humble opinion the best team in the league. Even without those guys that got banned unfairly, the vikings could have should have won if not for crazy fluky stuff happening. Also, a great day for the vikes as the bears were trounced by a below average green bay team 37-3 putting MN in pole position to win quite possibly the best division in the NFL. I mean even with kyle 'the best quarterback in the league' orton the bears would have still had their crappy defense on the field.
At this point in the season I would have to say the Vikings will win the conference and finish either 11-5 or 14-2 if the appeals go through for the games they unjustly lost earlier this year.

bye week rocks!

I love bye-week. It gives us a chance to evaluate where we've been and where we're going. If you think about it hard enough, the vikings are probably the best team in the NFC north (?). Obviously they should have beat the bears, but they've also lost 3 really close road games that we had chances to win, blew a huge lead to the colts (the other best team in the league), and have generally just been poor about penalties and giveaways (the 2 easiest things to fix). So basically, the vikings are right where they want to be--coming from behind. Crappy fans of teams like the bears will write them off, but they actually have a solid running game and old and awesome QB who has everything to prove.
So if we are less stupid after this week, that'll be just fine. I'm going to go out on a limb here and call a 10-6 season because let's face it, the vikings have completely underachieved at this point and still have 3 wins and some close calls.

Peace be with the vikings

first blogz everz

Dear Vikings faithful,
I feel like the last game was a stepping stone. I know we went to 2-4 or something but we've now played the 6 best teams in the league and we've won 2. So I think we're going to finish 12-4 at worst. But back to the stepping stone. The bears suck really really bad, but apparently have better coaching as ronny turner is the best guy around and our coach (?) is dogshit. I mean I love the guy but he's just not getting the job done. Anyway, the bears we're a stepping stone because we were so awful and only lost by 7 to the most average team in the league with the best defense. I think we scored 41 points against the best defense. That's why I'm talking about the stepping stone.

When we step on the field in two weeks, I feel as though our stepping stone will grow to a stepping boulder. Our desire to stay in games and ability to move the ball when it counts gives us an edge. I'm both optimistic and so worried at the same time that Gus F. will take the week off to spend some time by his stream, fishing and relaxing. I hear this is where he goes to find solace and comfort and peace in both himself and his team.

Vikings roll!

Thank you
